Are You Competing Against Me?


If you think that I am your competition, you should know more about what I do in the real estate industry.


Am I your competition? Of course not. Do I compete against the other agents in my office? Absolutely not.

For those of you who do not know anything about me, you should know that I am actually an investor. I am a licensed agent who can take listings and work with buyers, but I do not meet face-to-face with buyers or sellers. I also do not take buyer broker agreements.

So, what do I do? I pass out the generated leads to agents I work with within my office. This means that when a $1.5 million lead comes through, I don’t go and cherry-pick the lead or say that it will be a super profitable deal—I do not take listings.

As a real estate investor, I help generate over 2,000 leads each and every month, all of which stem the fact that I am looking for great investment opportunities. The reality is that for me to get a great deal on a property, it has to be the right fit for the seller. For most sellers, it does not make sense to sell to an investor, and I know that.

It’s all about statistics: I need to get my agents face-to-face with enough sellers to come across a person for whom it would make sense to sell to an investor. The rest of those leads are then passed on to my agents as listing opportunities.
